Is Uganda the best destination for Mountain Gorilla Trekking?

Commonly referred to as “the pearl of Africa”, Uganda is also known for being the best gorilla tracking destination. With a total of around 900 mountain gorillas left in the whole world, this east African country is said to have over half of this total population and this makes it the best option for those visitors intending to go gorilla trekking. Other countries where one can visit for a thrilling tracking experience are Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo. Currently, this East African hosts the highest number of primate lovers and these include those who are on holidays and those who are doing research. The park is estimated to harbor over 300 mountain gorillas and this number is large enough to offer the most exciting tracking experience in its tropical rainforest. The park has over 11 habituated gorilla families which are available for trekking and this puts it in the number one position when it comes to giving trekkers the best conducive atmosphere for spending a day with the primates. Walking through the thick bushes of Bwindi is a dream comes true as one gets to experience a thrilling adventure in an area where nature is brought to life. Mgahinga National Park:

This is another park where one can go and track the rare mountain gorillas. Although there are few habituated gorilla families in this park, the convenience and relaxation one enjoys while looking for the primates in their natural habitats is just enough to make the safari interesting. This park is also found in the southwest of Uganda and it is one of those few areas in the world where one can expect to have a real experience with the gorillas in their natural habitats.
